The Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C) coating, currently considered the most advanced among the similar diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings, is applied to the surfaces of the bushings and rollers of HPE chains and combines high hardness with a low coefficient of friction: by eliminating the need for periodic lubrication while ensuring the same running performance as a normal chain regularly lubricated every 500 km, reduces energy loss and increases the efficiency of chain transmission, avoids lubricant splashes while riding and minimises the environmental impact.
